Wisdom Medicine with evening hours
"I developed back pain, and left hip pain about 3 years ago. I took pills, did physical therapy, and did yoga classes- nothing has been helpful.
Aiko is an amazing professional who goes above and beyond to attend to your needs and concerns. She listens to you, clarifies your complaints, puts it all together and the results are amazing.
After the first treatment, my pain was diminished from a 5/10 to a 2/10. That night I slept well for the first time in 3 years.
After a course of 5 treatments my pain is almost gone- 0-1/10. I will follow Aiko's advice to take a three month course of herbal medicine.
Thank you Aiko!"

"I came to Jonathan seeking treatment for lower back pain- sciatica lasting 17 years! After the first three treatments, the sensitivity had gone away. By the 4th treatment, my pain was
90-95% better. This medicine has been around for thousands of years for a reason- it works. Thank you for improving the quality of my life."

"I have the feeling I am picking up my life again where I left it more than a year ago. I am finally recognizing myself again. I lost one year of my life, and you and your needles gave it back to me. You will forever be remembered as the person who gave me my life back, who gave me myself back.
Thank you"

Common Questions
What Conditions can Acupuncture Treat?
Where modern biomedicine tends to focus on symptomatic care, Chinese medicine treats patterns of dysfunction, to regulate the body as a whole. This means Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can treat a wide range of modern medically defined conditions.
A detailed list is available beginning on page 23 of this report by the
World Health Organization- WHO.
We have had success treating a wide variety of cases including Peripheral Neuropathy, Pulmonary Fibrosis, IBS, Panic Attacks, Chronic Pain, PVC, chronic allergies, migraine HA, PCOS, Fibromyalgia, Insomnia, and many others.
How Many Treatments will I need?
Acupuncture works by stimulating the body to regulate the nervous, endocrine, and circulatory system. People respond at different rates, but from our experience, those who have had conditions for longer periods, require more sessions. We have noticed that doing a group of treatments close together, and then tapering off, is the way to ease a condition in the shortest period of time.
How long will the results last?
The focus of Chinese Medicine is to 'Click the body back in' to parasympathetic state- a mode that favors regeneration, growth, optimal circulation, and endocrine function. This healthy state can be maintained with proper diet, exercise, and stress relief. Monthly, or twice monthly acupuncture can then be used as preventative care/ health maintenance, to help keep the body out of a 'protective'- Sympathetic mode, which, over time, leads to pathology. The following link gives a simple but effective illustration.
What does Acupuncture feel like?
In modern allopathic medicine, needles are large and hollow to introduce to, or withdraw substances from the body. Acupuncture needles are significantly smaller- about the width of a human hair- and are used to induce a cascade of relaxation, throughout the body. We emphasize a gentle approach. Most of our patients feel barely the slightest sensation, when the needles are placed, and then a gentle flow, tingling, and buzzing throughout the body, as the treatment progresses. Overall, acupuncture with us is a restorative, pleasurable experience.
How Many Needles do you use?
We have found through experience that a successful treatment is based on an accurate diagnosis, as opposed to the number of needles. Our treatments are quite powerful, and focus upon regulating a very specific aspect of your physiology. The points we use are most often on the arms and legs, from the knees/ elbows down. We have had incredible results using only 4 needles, but will, on occasion, use up to 14.
Needles are sterile stainless steel, single use only, and disposed of as medical waste in a Sharps Container
I've never done acupuncture. What happens during a session?
Because we will have reviewed your case thoroughly before our session, we will be ready to treat you when we meet. Before we start, we will confirm our treatment plan using classical, objective diagnostic techniques- including observation of your tongue/ feeling your pulse at the wrist, palpating limbs, and possibly the abdomen.
The treatment will be done in a position most comfortable for you- preferably lying down, or reclining, but seated treatments are common as well.
It takes between 5-10 minutes to place the needles, and achieve that buzzing/ flowing/ tingling sensation, that confirms your body is responding to the stimulation. The next part is the best- simply rest, and relax- from 15- 40 minutes ( depending on the condition). We will check in on you at least once- more if you prefer. Most patients fall asleep during the treatment. At the completion of the session, all needles are removed.
Expect to feel calm, and clear in your mind for the next few hours. To re-enforce the treatment, avoid vigorous exercise, and alcohol for the remainder of the day.
